Upper American River
Watershed Program

Overview

EDWA is developing an Upper American River Watershed Plan to create a resilient watershed that can fulfill the ecological, economic, and social needs of the region through implementable, collaborative, and integrated strategies. To provide feedback on the direction and content of the plan, we are facilitating an Upper American River Watershed Planning Group. We were awarded a 2021 Cooperative Watershed Management Program Phase I Grant to form the Upper American River Watershed Planning Group and start watershed planning, action, and project development.

Watershed Plan

The Watershed Plan is under development; a draft plan is anticipated by October 2023.

Watershed Planning Group

The Upper American River Watershed Planning Group is a diverse group of stakeholders, including local land use authorities, water purveyors, resource conservation districts, non-governmental organizations, Tribal governments, and federal agencies. The planning group meets regularly to provide feedback on the direction and content of the watershed plan.
